1974 Bora, Rame Met (copper) with off-white interior, 5-speed, 4.9 liter engine.
This is without a doubt one of the nicest and most original Bora still in existence. The car has only 14,804 original miles and it looks and drives like a
low mileage car should. The paint is mostly original with some minor touch ups. The paint quality is very good with a very nice shine. Body fit and
finish is superb, Interior is all original …. including leather, carpet, dash and headliner. It currently has a modern radio with CD installed but the┬á
original Blaupunkt comes with the car, as well as the radio’s operating manual. There is NO rust and NO collision damage. The stainless steel top is in┬á
great condition. This Bora is about as clean and straight as you will ever find one.
Mechanically the car is also superb. The four overhead cam Maserati 4.9 liter V8 engine runs and idles perfectly with plenty of power. There are no
engine leaks and engine blows no smoke. The ZF 5-speed transaxle shifts smoothly. The hydraulic system was serviced by SM World on October
2001. Headlights go up and down as they should. Hydraulic seat and pedal adjustments are working properly. Carbs and valve clearances were done
in January 2006. Exhaust was replaced in January 2006 with stainless steel system from Stebro. AC blows cold, all gauges, including clock, are in
working order. Tires are new. Well documented recent service history by well known Italian mechanic in Sarasota, FL.
In 2006 this Bora won first place in its class at the Atlanta Italian Car day.  In 2007 it won second place.
History: The car was sold new in June 1974 in Los Angeles. In 1980 it was sold to a gentleman in the Lake Tahoe, Nevada area. In 1986 it went back
to California until 2003. In 2005 it came to the Atlanta, Georgia area. The car has now been in single ownership in Sarasota, FL for 8 years. It is believed that this was the Bora used on the famous┬á“The Wind and the Star”┬ábrochure. For more details on that brochure,┬áclick here.
It includes documentation, original manual and tools. This car is an incredible time capsule, even the spare time is the original Michelin XWX and it
has never been used! Photos alone cannot capture its essence of this car, you really need to see it and drive it to get a good appreciation for how
nice it really is.
The Bora featured here is finished in the very attractive copper metallic paintwork with bone leather interior, and as reflected on the odometer, has traveled only some 14,803 miles since new. The desirable option of air conditioning is fitted along with power windows and the original maintenance manual, receipts and books as one would expect from such a Maserati.
Engine bay and chassis are both pleasing to the eye and testify to the carÔÇÖs overall care and maintenance. It is also reported by the vendor that the car handles and drives extremely well. While produced in relatively small numbers and considered highly sought-after, this fast and stylish sports car will make a wonderful addition to any collection.
