1941 Model 29 Custom Torpedo 2-Door Coupe. The “C” Body Custom Torpedo Coupe was the top of the line entry in Pontiac’s offerings for 1941. A series 29 8-Cylinder very rarely seen low-production (approximately 200 built) stylish coupe offered one of GM’s best “Deco” late pre-war styling exercises with unique definitive 41 model year horizontal chrome body accents accentuating the long appearance of this big coupe along with wide horizontal grill features met by vertical chrome lines surrounding the clear acrylic Pontiac Indian Chief motif in the center of the hood.
Delivered new from Lockwood Motors in Peasville New York this particular car was acquired by a respected collector in 1985 with only 12,000 miles on the odometer. Purchased from the notable low mileage Len Emke collection also previously owned by renowned collector Bob Adams. Offered with well preserved original pin-striped cloth interior and trunk compartment with original unused spare wheel and tire. The finish shows very well having been treated to a bare-metal re-finish in the late 1980s.
Now showing only 22,000 actual miles, a car easily driven and well accepted at any classic car event and not to be seen with another example in attendance.
