Ordered new with luggage - luggage is  in original un-restored plaid upholstery (only chrome latches, belts and handles have been restored)

Ordered new with Rudge knock-off wheels (Rudge wheels are restored)

Outstanding original undamaged sound body, was stripped to bare metal and repainted Mercedes Benz Silver.  Chrome was professionally re-plated, motor was removed and compartment detailed, chassis detailed, belly pans restored, stainless exhaust added, clutch replaced, new wire loom installed, gauges rebuilt by Palo Alto Gauges, new professionally installed complete original interior, installed in original correct dark blue leather (2004), correct square weave carpeting and correct gray wool headliner material.

This car has been enthusiast maintained, toured 300SL event, Gullwing convention events, and received the Amelia Island Award 2004...driven little since.

This 300SL can be depended on as a reliable driving vehicle, capable of extensive touring...you can DRIVE this car.

Has 75lb oil pressure when warm.

All original glass, windshield replaced with correct Mercedes Benz windscreen.

Car has had three owners

Bought new by A. E. Staley in Decatur, IL of A.R. Staley Grain Processing, founded Staley Bears Football team, now Chicago Bears, delivered in New York for use in Naples, FL.

A.R. Staley donated the car to Naples Hospital in 1960's (reference service records)

The 2nd owner, Naples resident,  purchased the vehicle from the hospital .  Car was then put in storage in the late 1960's (in Florida) - the fuel system and motor were properly lubricated for storage preservation.

Vehicle sold to 3rd owner in 1999 with 30,000 miles on it...car now has 62,000 original miles.
